How is it played? (Rules)
The wrestlers are called by the ‘table’ for their contest. The protection is a mat indoor, and sawdust outdoors. Then the referees organise the fight. The wrestlers grip and try to throw their opponent while getting a proper result. When the contest is over, the winner lift his arm to the public and two ther wrestlers are called by the ‘table’.
Victory is given when the opponent is thrown on a flat back, shoulders touching together, without touching the buttocks, which is called LAMM (a technical knock out). Intermediate results exist. The attacker must touch the ground after the opponent fall.

Gouren is a traditional wrestling style from Brittany, the Western part of France. The first references are from the 14th century, but it was probably performed before this date

Objective
GOUREN is a standing up wrestling style with clothes. When the wrestlers fall down, they stop wrestling, check hands and start again. The wrestlers (men or women) wear a strong jacket called roched and a short trouser called bragou. Legs can grip legs, hands can grip anywhere on the Jacket above the belt (including the belt).

Half of the calendar is indoor, with no relation with the religious agenda. Outdoor, the competitions are related mainly with the religious agenda or with holidau festivals.
