Karnten Ringen

How is it played? (Rules)

Karnten Ringen is a standing up wrestling style, with clothes and shoes. The wrestlers wear an jacket open to the front and a trouser, and shoes. Wrestlers grip on the right collar of the jacket with right hand, and to the low edge of the jacket with the left. They are not allowed to change the position.
Tricks are done mainly with legs and feet (with shoes). There are age categories but not weight categories.
The victory is given by points after time limit. When a wrestler is thrown on any part of the body, upper to the knees, it is one point.
Karnten ringen is played in summer on soft grass, or on sawdust. The diameter of the contest area is about 8 – 10 meters.
